The Route was a east to west traverse from hut-to-hut across almost the whole of the Austrian flanks of the Zillertal range, and included ascents of five summits along the way: Am Horn (2647), Roßkopf (2845),

Richter Spitz (3052), Schönbichler Horn (3134), and Schwarzenstein (3368).

The first 4-day section was from Gerlos Pass, through the Reichen Spitz group and then down to Mayrhofen for a free day. The main frontier ridge was covered in the following two 3-day sections and the final stage was a high level traverse beneath Schrammacher and Olperer.

Leaders Allan Witton, Gerry Leversha, Bill Souster, Adrian Dobson, John Willson, Steve Adams. The illustrated log contains a full party list, which includes a young Martin Boulton on his first Foreign Trek.
