MGS Pupils with Offers

MGS pupils have, once again, been highly successful in securing coveted offers from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

This year, 22 pupils received offers from Oxford and Cambridge, placing MGS in a very select group of top academic schools nationally.Pupils received offers to study a very wide range of courses, including Medicine, Modern Languages, Engineering, History, Science and Mathematics.

This year’s offers continue a strong tradition of university success for MGS pupils. Some 100 Old Mancunians are currently studying at Oxford and Cambridge, and the School has an outstanding record of success in medicine: 27 pupils went to medical school in 2016, and similar numbers are expected this year.

The High Master, Dr Martin Boulton, said: “I am very proud of the achievements of our boys, and delighted that their talent and dedication have been recognised with these offers from Oxford and Cambridge. Competition for places at the country’s leading universities has never been greater, and I am delighted to see our pupils’ hard work rewarded. I wish them every success with their examinations later this year.”
